Suggestion?

As I've always liked the idea of self-portraits for this exchange, I've decided that the photos I will supply will also be self-portraits.  Anyone think this is a good idea and want to do the same?

umm, I tend to delete more photos of myself if they are self portraits. If someone else takes them, and I get use to them (because you never look the way you think you do), it is ok. I am going to put a series of self and portraits taken by others up soon.

Same. Also, I am going to have my daughter make a video that y'all can't capture stills from. I think that video will help people make their own artistic decisions. Grab a still from the video where you want. Switch the flickr video to full screen and take screen grabs. Make sense?

I think I will use a mix. I'm not sure if I have the wherewithall to make a video, but I will give it a shot!

I don't mind self and others... it is all good... I will however have to take some photos of myself so that you all have something to draw. ;-)

I will be out of town for two weeks, but when I get back, after June 17th, I'll order my sketchbook and take some photos (maybe a video, we will see..:)

Has anyone actually started?

I will begin with a self portrait. First I have to collect reference photos and video. We still haven't actually agreed on how to organize this activity. I think we should make personal arrangements with members of this group, and welcome any interested artist to participate.

What do you think?

I favor the format of the moly x swaps, starting with the 10 or so here who have already signed on and rotating through. An artist can always arrange additional swaps to fill the book if that is the goal. If I were to do the traditional one-to-one trade then I would probably just do that through the portrait party's website.

I prefer the usual rotation of the moly x. I think once it is organised and begun it is easier to keep track of who and where. Otherwise there is a lot of emailing, posting and posting back. I could work out a schedule sometime next week if all we are waiting for is someone to put up their hand.

Very well. Let's do it the old moly_x way. We'll set up another group for the other interested artists. Please give some thought to how this group will end and the next group will evolve from it. Not sure how that will work.

So, we should start collecting reference photos. Shall we keep the order the way it appears in "THE ARTISTS"?

Let's do it.

sure, it seems to be a good order, I personally don't mind sending overseas (such as Australia), so if that makes a difference to the line up, go ahead.

I'm going to get started on a Japanese Moleskine, then send it off to Marty, who's next on the list.

This is going to be my second time doing the moly thing, so I'm in the situation of "I'll do what ever you want"... hmmm, that sounded strange, isn't? :P

I have a few portraits of myself but some others won't hurt much ;)

Hi all!
I just entered the process. AS it turned out that I do not have a Japanese Moly on hand, but there is a large Sketchbook-I would start it (= The paper is much better here for my fave watercolour)
When I make self-portraits (I mean photos)they show my monkey nature)
