The grand finale

My moly arrived safely back home and I am enraptured with its fabulousness. You all have overwhelmed me with your talents and imaginations. Samantha didn't post a photo of her work in progress, so I hope she doesn't mind me sharing it here.

Love it. Thank you so much, each and every one of you! This is precious to me and will be a keepsake forever. My daughter, who was maybe three when this all started, looked over my shoulder as I unfolded each page and was delighted to see her own face among the entries.

Good luck to all of you with everything. I hope you will all enjoy your books when they return as much as I am enjoying this one.

Congratulations

I wanted to congratulate Samantha on her work in Gabriel's new book. I picked up my copy today and it is killing me to put it down for the brief moment to type this. If you haven't had a chance to check it out may I suggest you do?

Kathleen & Marina books

Just had a small idea I wanted to put out there. Kathleen and Marina had books disappear a long time ago and they have both stuck with our group and continued to make entries in our books as they have received them. I did not get the chance to make an entry in either book and would be happy to send a portrait to each of you.  I know some others have commented that they've not had books to make entries in for a long time. Perhaps this is a nice way to fill the gap, while certainly not required. I think I have updated email addresses if anyone's interested.

I promise, it only looks like I am plotting revenge on sweet Anna! Graphitint watercolor pencils and metallic paint pens.

The light in Anna's photo made everything so gold and lovely. And there I was, looking in the mirror and seeing lots of new silver hairs popping through.

This reminds me of the lovely childhood song :
"Make new friends, but keep the old.
One is silver and the other gold."

Status Update

Hi Friends-

Hope this post finds you all well. I'm logging in to let you know I've received Ann-D's book from Chris. Does anyone else have an update to share? Please remember to log in when you do. That momentum keeps us all going and gets those fingers itching to create something awesome. 

At this point, I need to kindly urge people that have had books for 3, 4, 7, 10 months to speak up. To be fair to the rest of the group, you need to email, reply, comment, whatever about the status of the book in your possession. There's no shame in being busy...but if you haven't touched a book in over six months - it's time to commit with a deadline or tell us that you need some time away. I will do my best to match your book up with the next waiting artist. And thank you to those who have been patiently waiting without a book for months. I apologize for not getting this message out sooner.

Here's my entry in Anna D's portrait book. This is a complete spinoff of what I usually make. It was very experimental and I was aggressive. I hope you like it Anna D. I'm very sorry it's late. There was a lot of thought and time put into this one. That and babies take a lot of time.

A preview of Anna's book - in progress

I just wanted to pop in since I haven't posted in a while (except in comments). I've been rehashing this portrait for a while. This has been my most elaborate preparation. I finally worked up the courage to put my ink in Anna's book. I laid the lines in today. After the lines work dried I got bold and added the first layer of color. I've never done anything like the entry I'm working on in this book. And honestly, it tends to scare me (pottymouth!)-less. But this is why I love Moly_X so much. I'm constantly challenged to make something new.
