What kind of moly?

I think I am going to use a standard moly instead of a Japanese fold. I feel like a portrait begs for more room. I will dedicate this book to these portraits. There are 100 pages in this type of book, so I suppose it will take a long time to fill. I have plenty of time.

We'd like to add a few more artists to this group. This book will accommodate many more portraits than the smaller Japanese fold pocket Moleskine. Please consider this book.

Time to change the masthead :)

Either book is fine with me.
I still might print out photos of myself and stick them in the sleeve at the back of the book. Then the large one would be better.

Oh, it's a large one. I like this idea.

I thought about using a large one too, interesting, yes, then it could last longer. I may get bored with drawing myself by then, but I think I agree with you.
I think I'll leave mine on the internet, that way, perhaps I can change, add to it.

I've already bought a japanese fold, so unless everyone protests I might stick with that for mine. I like the long format and the way the illustrations can interact and play off each other. Not that I mind drawing in someone else's non-concertina moleskine :)

Oh, in the absence of support I repent:) I think I have a large moleskine at home and I've thought of something to do with it (I was reluctant to change because I'd been planning layouts for the concertina fold). But now I have two spare folding books so will have to join another exchange as well!

Tanaudel,
I'm fine with you using which ever book you are most comfortable with. Coincidentally - Have you joined another moly x group? I also bought an extra so I'm up for another group.

Didn't mean to sound miffed! I was just feeling so pleased with myself for finding the things:)

I'd definitely like to, Melissa.

Actually, personally I'm liking the smaller format better. I think the Japanese album format might actually harbor interesting results (since there's no real 'frame' like there is when the pages are separated. I also think it will help us stay in touch with the combination of the two original concepts of the moly_x and the portrait exchange.

But if everyone else is in favor of larger books, that's fine as well.

The more I think this over I like the idea of the artist choosing his/her book.

I'm happy with the artist choosing their own books format too. If we do, I'm not sure what I'll pick. I'm tempted by the Japanese fold, just because I have rarely used one.

I have a problem: I couldn't find the large sketchbook at the store; they told me they might have one in 3 monts and that is a very long time from now.

What about using the plain large notebook?

I know the pages are so thin and it has 240 pages.

I'll work on the large sketchbook.
I need to practice on a bigger size!
