Hello everybody!
After years of break I was happy and excited to get back to this great group! I've forgot how fun it was - all these Moly exchanges, interacting with different artists from all over the world!
So here it comes - Chris' book with my entry. I don't really know how I've come to this image, maybe that's what Chris' cool photographs associate with for me.
Chris, hope you like it!
All I need now is to find a pigeon and send it to.... Who's next?

Anna Denise's Moly

My contribution to Anna Denise's Moly - pen and ink with a touch of watercolour pencil.
Who would like this very lovely book next? (seriously lovely pieces, everyone!)
I sent Chris' Moly to Marina and after months it was returned to me so I am going to post it to her again this week.

Lisa's book

I finished up Lisa's book today. I've been experimenting with water soluble graphite lately and this book seemed to fit in well with that. Robin's entry before mine was a large facial spread in pencil. I'm pretty happy overall with my painting of Lisa, not so much of myself. I would have preferred to leave myself out completely! Maybe I just need more self portrait practice. It was difficult to even find a picture of myself. But rules are rules :D
I hope you like it Lisa. Oh also, this is just a snap taken with my iPhone. I'll scan a hi-res image tomorrow and post it to flickr.
Edit: I added the scanned image.

Melissa and I + our "babies"

First of all - sorry for the delay, but here it comes! I passed through a lot of Melissa's photos and found her photographed together with her daughter many times. The postures looked so familiar to me, and I found one picture of myself together with my "baby" that looked very similar.
Don't moms and their children look similar over the world?
Melissa, I hope you liked our group portrait.

I need to work fast...

So I have noticed with the Portraits I need to work like I did when I used to do life drawing, fast and not thinking too much, and generally, I have a better attitude to it, and I am much happier with the result.
So!
Here is the first of the three I have. Marty as a raccoon style monster. I am very happy with his expression.

All Aboard!

As soon as I saw these glasses I knew what I was going to draw. Unfortunately, It took me quite awhile to get to this. The holidays were way busy. I actually liked this a lot better when it was black and white. I really wish watercolor worked better on these pages, but I am moderately happy with the colored pencil too. I hope this "punches my ticket" as an honorary member of the portrait party.
Chris, off to you tomorrow.

Vive les Reines!

I have a thing for powdered wigs and all that.
I thought I'd carry on with the pencil, black & white with ribbons of pink. I hope you like it Lisa, and get ready Marty, we are on our way to you tomorrow!

Vast Expanses of Blue
My contribution to the sign in page for Marina's moly - I can dance, but I can't dance well!
Self portrait executed in broad strokes (and illustrating the dangers of using flash photographs for reference).

What the...

Here is Marty's book, finally.
I learned a couple things working on this Moly. One is that when the page right in front of the one your doing is pretty heavily painted, try something other than watercolor. Melissa, your page still looks great, but that dark color really affected the page my portrait is on. So a lot of adjustment was needed. The other thing is that I really am enjoying this because it is forcing me to draw again. Thanks gang.
Oh, and Chris, there is some bleed-through on the next page. Good luck with that.

Grrr...

I am happy with my drawing of Rama. I was happy with my drawing of me, when it was in the same penned style, until I had a mishap with a wayward pen. In an attempt to camouflage the mistake, I painted over it with gouache. Then more mistakes cascaded onto the paper and this is the end result. Maybe by the time the book comes back to me, a time-machine will be invented and I can prevent that first and fatal pen splotch. Until then, Rama, I hope you like it :)
