here's my self-portrait! You weren't kidding about the moleskine disliking watercolor. Ink too. But I beat it into submission. It's on its was to Szaza tomorrow.

Great concept for your intro page. I actually like the way the color got a little granulated - it gives another layer.

May I make this humble suggestion for you to try? After you make your ink drawing, rub the paper with a clean kneaded eraser. I'd say you can't rub super lightly. Aply pressure. It takes off the weird "sizing" from the moleskine page, and permits the watercolors to adhere a little better. Also, gouache, with it's fuller body, stays put slightly better than the watercolor. See if this works for you, and let me know. Oh, and that is a terrific, strong drawing, by the way.
