The Dark Side

Someone watched too many Batman movies lately.
This would have to be one of the strangest things to come out of my brush /pen from where I originally started and what I intended. Creating is a strange process sometimes.

Night Job.

When I lived in Philly during the early 80's there were at least three fellas who woke up each morning and dressed themselves up as Benjamin Franklin. Only one them, I believe, was paid to do so. He had a very nice costume, paid for by the National Park Service which manages Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell attraction. The others, thought they WERE Benjamin Franklin. I thought it would be funny if they got into a street fight. I dreamed of seeing the Ben Franklin scuffle splashed across the front page of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

If there is one guy who dresses up as a raccoon every evening, I figure that there must be another out there somewhere. At least one of them probably thinks he/she IS a raccoon.

Golly, I could go for a cheesesteak right now.

Tanaudel reenters Earth's atmosphere

I am back in Australia and I have begun my Moleskine for the exchange.

I executed my self-portrait in Pitt Artist Pens (my favourite sketchbook pen at the moment, although you can see the individual pen strokes). As you can see, I was feeling pretty cheerful when I planned it, and not having any self-esteem issues.

Molyx: Paperdoll

And here is a small version because Blogger is cutting off the right-hand side of the picture. Does anyone know how to stop that?
Moly_x: Paperdoll

Here is the sign-in page. I am showing the small version because it is very ugly, although you can of course see a larger version by going through to Flickr and clicking "all sizes". I am hoping every one else's frames and pictures will make it a little bit less of an eyesore.

I don't think I have a theme. But I do like old fashioned games and parlour games and word games, so I won't object if people reference those - and I did allude to them in the books on the sign-in page.

Jan's Moly has begun (finally)

For my signin page I made a little book and attached it to the inside front cover. Each page of the book is cut into three to make and Exquisite Corpse* book. I want each participant to add a self portrait here - just a quick blind contour or something simple.I've made some repositionable adhesive strips to hold the three parts of the page together while you work. I'm looking forward to seeing the little book full with the bizarre combinations that it will have, all of us blended together.
And this is me. I think I will transcribe the text on my blog or flickr or somewhere. Give me a minute and then check it out. Posting off to Katherine on Monday. Just got to commit to some photos and I will have caught up completely.
And talking about Excuisite Corpse* books... I'm thinking about starting an MolyEC exchange. I've got a small Moleskine sketchbook which I will cut the same as my little book above. It won't be self portraits, but any figure you like. I love to think of the exciting beasts that could be made with the book when it is filled with everyones fantastic drawings. Marty I'll be in touch about that!

*I will post info about the history of Excuisite Corpse books on my blog shortly.

Yoda's Moly is in Russia!

Hi dear all!
After some obstacle, finally, Yoda's Moly came to Russia from Mexico! It's L-O-V-E-L-Y! I can't stop looking at Yoda's self-portrait with admiration(= greatly done!

Yoda, I think you shouldn't sent it by Fed Ex-it's toooo expensive! Try normal mail next time. It would take 10-maximum 14 days I hope. Anyway, we have a whole month to prepare the portrait-I would try to be quick in order to pass the Moly to the next swap station as soo as possible(=

Hugs
Olya

translations....

Whew... finally... I have my moly ready to go. My hope is to have each artist sign a stone, in the back of the book is a spot to write your name a bit larger and to include the date you finished your drawings. Also, if anyone wants to leave their card in the pocket that would be great!!
I am really looking forward to this group!! I will work on getting more images of me for all of you to pick through. Feel free to use anything you may fancy from my flickr pages.

Just so you all know, sometimes I draw realistic (with pencil) sometimes I draw with pen and watercolor which can get a bit wonky but more fun. So I'll probably go back and forth depending on time constraints. :) Cheers!!! :)

The title means "stone, paper or scissors"

I still need to work on the sign in page and I hope I could send it to Olya tomorrow :))

I hope you're all having fun.

Here is my Sign In page.

The idea is simple-create a window on one of the houses and sign in(= It would be nice if you put a small photo/name/age inside the window((= My picture is too official I'd say-it was taken a year ago for some document.
Have fun. Please, decorate the houses as you wish))) I love interaction.
The Moly will be send these days to Anna-Denise.

Me and myself…

Finally, I finished the first entry in my book!
Please join me on my Sign-In page! Feel free to dance. Take some drinks, or to do whatever you want to do! But please, enjoy the Party! Draw yourself and don't forget to introduce!

Ah, here's my theme: Me and myself. Please draw your portrait and a little bit of your… things, thoughts, dreams…e.t.c.

I'm using a big moleskine because of his size. But I'm missing the collaboration part. So I added a little drawing at the next page– what will cause some interaction. Please slide also to the next person's page!

Have fun!
Great works everyone!

My First Self-Portrait is Ready (=

Here is my first piece)) You would laught at me-but I was so concertrated on face that forgot that I have ears)))) Hope it seems as they are hidden in the hair) I do not know why but I also tend to make faces longer as they should really be and eyes-bigger.
I got much pleasure-'cause I do not usually draw portraits or people at all.
I'm not ready yet to send the Moly because I didn't realize the sign in page as I want it to be. Hope to finish it very soon,
Cheers

I WANT YOU TO DRAW MY PORTRAIT

Photobucket

here's my self-portrait! You weren't kidding about the moleskine disliking watercolor. Ink too. But I beat it into submission. It's on its was to Szaza tomorrow.
